The Blackhawks and Blues meet up in Chicago on Thursday in a battle of Western Conference juggernauts at the United Center.
The St. Louis Blues head into the Windy City on Thursday looking to inch closer to locking up top seed in the Western Conference and claim the Central division crown but they have a very frustrated Hawks side to contend with as they haven’t been playing well and released some energy thanks to a beat down of the Coyotes. The Blues though are not the Arizona Coyotes and will certainly be heading to the NHL Playoffs as one of the teams to beat as they have put together a very successful season and are on the brink of unseating the Dallas Stars for the pole position as the teams currently sit tied. Brian Elliott is expected to get the call in the Blues’ goal as he will face off against Scott Darling who continues to fill in for the injured Corey Crawford.
The Blackhawks meanwhile look to finish the regular season on a positive note as they had been playing some very sloppy hockey until they made quick work of the Coyotes and if they can get a win at home here against the Blues they will be in a better frame of mind. Chicago is locked in to the third seed in the Central division and will have to travel to either St. Louis or Dallas for games one and two of the opening round series as the champion as mentioned has yet to be determined. Chicago is a great team obviously, as they are the defending champions but they run into a better team here who hold the goaltending edge.
