|Date & Time||Thursday March 22, 2018, 8:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Chicago Blackhawks -180 / Vancouver Canucks +162 --- Over/Under: 5.5
Wednesday NHL action comes to the United Center where the Chicago Blackhawks host the Vancouver Canucks.
The Vancouver Canucks have dropped seven in a row where a struggling offense suffered through three straight shutouts in this stretch. Vancouver comes in off of a 4-1 loss at the Vegas Golden Knights where Brandon Sutter scored the lone goal in the third and Jacob Markstrom recorded 24 stops.
The Golden Knights saw scoring off the sticks of Jonathan Marchessault, Cody Eakin, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Tomas Tater all finding the back of the net. Overall, 12 different players recorded points for Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all seven shots he faced before leaving with an undisclosed injury but Malcolm Subban came on to record 22 saves for the Golden Knights.
The Chicago Blackhawks have not been able to turn their season around which has put the postseason out of reach. Chicago has lost four straight after a 5-1 loss versus Colorado where Brent Seabrook scored for the Blackhawks and Anton Forsberg made 35 saves in taking the loss.
Alexander Kerfoot topped the Avalanche offense with two goals with Mikko Rantanen, Tyson Barrie and Erik Johnson also lighting the lamp. Nathan MacKinnon posted two assists and Semyon Varlamov recorded 44 saves to pick up the win for Colorado.
Canucks are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Central and under is 6-0 in Canucks last 6 road games and over is 6-1 in Canucks last 7 vs. Central. Over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 overall and Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Vancouver can’t score and Chicago can’t keep the puck out of their net so be careful betting either team. There’s not much to go on here so perhaps a small over bet…
