Chicago Blackhawks +140 / Vegas Golden Knights -175
The Vegas Golden Knights and the Chicago Blackhawks meet in NHL action from the United Center on Saturday night.
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to rebound after having their 7-game winning streak snapped after a 3-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks in their last outing. Tomas Nosek pushed the Golden Knights in front just 1:34 into the game and carried that lead through the 1st intermission and for most of the 2nd before San Jose tied the game at 1-1 heading into the 3rd. Jon Merrill re-took the lead for Vegas before San Jose scored the tying and go-ahead goals just :39 apart and held on to give the Sharks a huge road win and snap Vegas’ winning streak. Marc-Andre Fleury took the loss for Vegas, allowing all 3 goals on 27 shots to fall to 25-11-4 this season.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to rebound after a 4-3 overtime loss to the Nashville Predators in their last outing. Nashville opened the scoring before Alex DeBrincat tied the game at 1-1 late in the 1st period. That tie would last all of :08 though as Nashville would re-take the lead right off of the following face-off to put Chicago behind 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. The Preds took a 3-1 lead late in the period before Jonathan Toews cut the deficit back to one goal with :20 in the 2nd and Artem Anisimov tied the game at 3-3 to send us to free hockey. The overtime was short-lived though, as Nashville scored in the opening minute of OT to take the extra point and leave Chicago with a big confidence road win. Collin Delia took the loss, falling to 3-1-2 after allowing all 4 goals on 37 shots in the losing effort for the Blackhawks.
Vegas is 7-1 in their last 8 games overall and 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games against the Western Conference. Chicago is 1-4 in their last 5 home games and 25-53 in their last 78 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games against the Pacific division. Vegas is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Chicago gave Nashville all the Predators could handle, but at the end of the day, the Blackhawks lost yet another game. Vegas had a stumble at home against the Sharks, but the fact here is that Vegas is the team in much better form right now and have had the Blackhawks number in their short time as a franchise. The price isn’t too bad either, so I’ll lay the juice with the Golden Knights in this spot.
