The Capitals received goals from Alex Ovechkin, Joel Ward and Marcus Johansson with the loss going to Braden Holtby who stopped 19 shots as the Caps lost number five in a row.
The Chicago Blackhawks look to go on a prolonged winning streak when they open a homestand with the Washington Capitals Friday. The Blackhawks exploded for three goals in the third to pull away from Montreal for a 5-0 road victory on Tuesday night. Corey Crawford was outstanding with 28 stops to pickup the win in his 11th career shutout. The win snapped a two game slide while the Canadiens dropped three in a row with Carey Price allowing all five goals on 32 shots.
