The Jets look for their second win in as many nights on Friday as they head into the United Center to battle the Blackhawks in a Central division show down.
The Winnipeg Jets continue to turn heads in the Western Conference this season as they notched another road win this time in Dallas last night against the Stars and can really make a statement with a win here over the Blackhawks. Winnipeg has been as consistent as they come this season and it looks like they may finally break through and earn a playoff spot in the crazy competitive Central division and it could come at the expense of playoff hopefuls like Minnesota, Dallas, and Colorado. The Jets have had to suffer through a laundry list of injuries and some of which have yet to return to action and if this team can get healthy towards the end of the season and add a piece or two at the trade deadline they could very well make a serious push at things in the West. Mike Hutchinson returns to the crease as he will go up against Corey Crawford for Chciago.
The Blackjhawks meanwhile continue to be the class of the Western Conference alongside the Anaheim Ducks and while they are in a tight battle with the Predators for top spot in the division I still think this is Chicago's to lose especially now with Pekka Rinne on the shelf. Chicago is loaded from top to bottom and match up well against anybody in the league and as such they are getting treated as kings by the odds makers especially at home. The Hawks are 15-5-1 at the United Center this season and while the Jets are 12-5-5 on the road it is Chicago who are the heavy favourites here based on their offensive depth and special teams play. However, I think the Jets are a lot closer to the Hawks than most people think and while I am not sold on Winnipeg getting the win outright I think this is their biggest game of the season and they get their better goaltender back between the pipes in Hutchinson and I think we see a heck of a game. I am taking the under here in what should be an exciting contest.
