The Line: Chicago Blackhawks +153 / Winnipeg Jets -170 --- Over/Under: 6
The Winnipeg Jets visit the United Center for an NHL bout with the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Winnipeg Jets are looking to enter he playoffs with a full head of steam and have been heading in that direction with six straight wins after downing Boston 5-4 in a SO. The Bruins saw scoring from Ryan Donato, Danton Heinen, David Pastrnak and Torey Krug while Anton Khudobin stopped 28 shots.
Brandon Tanev topped the Jets offense with a hat trick with Joe Morrow also scoring in regulation. Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine scored in the shootout and Adam Lowry logged a pair of assists to support Connor Hellebuyck’s 28 stops to keep the Jets hot.
The Chicago Blackhawks are going to miss the playoffs as the team never found a groove. Chicago comes off of a 4-3 SO loss to the San Jose Sharks where Alex Debrincat, Connor Murphy and Patrick Sharp scored for the Blackhawks and Anton Forsberg stopped 35-38 shots.
Marcus Sorensen, Evander Kane and Tomas Hertl lit the lamp in regulation for the Sharks with Logan Couture and Kevin Labanc scoring in the shootout. San Jose received 28 saves from Martin Jones who upped is record to 29-18-6.
Over is 6-0 in Jets last 6 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Jets are 6-0 in their last 6 overall and under is 6-0 in Jets last 6 road games. Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 home games and over is 4-0-1 in Blackhawks last 5 vs. Western Conference. Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago and over is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings and road team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
The Blackhawks might be out of the playoffs but the team has far too much talent to overlook. I’d do something on Winnipeg but nothing major…
