Anaheim Ducks at Colorado Avalanche
|Date & Time||Friday March 15, 2019, 9:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Anaheim Ducks +155 / Colorado Avalanche -180 -- Over/Under: 5.5
The Anaheim Ducks and Colorado Avalanche meet Friday in NHL action at the Pepsi Center.
The Anaheim Ducks look for a win here after splitting their last eight games. The Anaheim Ducks are averaging 2.3 goals per game and are scoring on 16 percent of their power play opportunities. Jakob Silfverberg leads Anaheim with 20 goals, Ryan Getzlaf has 29 assists and Adam Henrique has 109 shots on goal. Defensively, the Anaheim Ducks are allowing three goals per game and are killing 79.5 percent of their opponents power plays. John Gibson has given up 135 goals on 1,597 shots faced and Ryan Miller has allowed 35 goals on 461 shots. The Anaheim Ducks have allowed three or less goals in six of their last eight games.
The Colorado Avalanche could also use a win after losing five of their last eight games. The Colorado Avalanche are averaging 3.2 goals per game and are scoring on 22.4 percent of their power play opportunities. Nathan MacKinnon leads Colorado with 35 goals, Mikko Rantanen has 56 assists and Gabriel Landeskog has 230 shots on goal. Defensively, the Colorado Avalanche are allowing 3.1 goals per game and are killing 77.4 percent of their opponents power plays. Semyon Varlamov has given up 126 goals on 1,420 shots faced and Philipp Grubauer has allowed 74 goals on 750 shots. The Colorado Avalanche have allowed three or less goals in five of their last seven games.
The Ducks are 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog, 2-9 in their last 11 games as a road underdog and 2-9 in their last 11 road games. The Avalanche are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a home favorite, 5-2 in their last 7 games as a favorite and 5-2 in their last 7 home games. The Ducks are 28-13 in the last 41 meetings and the favorite is 35-17 in the last 52 meetings. The under is 42-16-2 in Ducks last 60 road games. The under is 4-1 in Avalanche last 5 overall.
Neither of these teams are playing all that great at the moment, but the Colorado Avalanche have been solid as a home favorite and they have something to play for with them only being five points behind the Arizona Coyotes for a playoff spot. If the Avalanche are going to make these last couple of weeks interesting, they have to take advantage of games like this. I'll side with the Colorado Avalanche at home for the fair price.
