The Florida Panthers go on the road to face the Colorado Avalanche in a Monday NHL tilt.

The Florida Panthers have been playing well with wins in four of five after routing the visiting LA Kings on Saturday. Dustin Brown scored unassisted in the first period for the Kings and Jonathan Quick was charged with all six goals on 23 shots to get the loss.

Vincent Trocheck, Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksandar Barkov, Keith Yandle, Jamie McGinn and Ian McCoshen lit the lamp for the Panthers. Yandle, Barkov and Huberdeau also had assists for Florida who received 18 stops from Roberto Luongo.

The Colorado Avalanche have reeled off four consecutive victories after shutting down Nashville 5-0 on the road Saturday. The Predators did total 38 shots but Pekka Rinne struggled in the nets with five goals allowed on 21 shots.

Nathan MacKinnon paced the Avalanche with a pair of markers while Alexander Kerfoot, Gabriel Landeskog and Nikita Zadarov also tallied. Kerfoot and Carl Soderberg gave Colorado two assists each and Philip Grubauer recorded 38 saves to pick up the win.

Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 overall and Panthers are 2-6 in their last 8 road games and Panthers are 2-7 in their last 9 vs. Central.

Avalanche are 3-9 in their last 12 games following a win and Avalanche are 2-6 in their last 8 home games and Avalanche are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Atlantic.

Colorado is heating up but I’m not paying the juice and would rather look elsewhere…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
