The San Jose Sharks go on the road to battle the Colorado Avalanche in Tuesday NHL action.

Joonas Donskoi scored twice for San Jose with Lukas Radil, Brent Burns and Joe Thornton also lighting the lamp. Evander Kane and Erik Karlsson added two helpers each and Aaron Dell was charged with eight goals on 27 shots to get the loss for the Sharks.

The explosive Calgary offense saw Johnny Gaudreau, Mikael Backlund and Matthew Tkachuk score twice each with Elias Lindholm and James Neal also reaching the scoring column.

Gaudreau and Tkachuk also had two assists while Sean Monahan added five helpers to lift the Flames and make a winner of David Rittich and his 28 stops.

The Colorado Avalanche need a change in momentum after a 3-2 OT loss to the visiting LA Kings has the team looking at five straight defeats. Nathan Mackinnon and Carl Soderberg scored in the third period for Colorado while Semyon Varlamov gave up three goals on 18 shots.

The Kings took a 2-0 lead in the second period on scoring by Drew Doughty and Sean Walker. Anze Kopitar assisted on both goals and Jonathan Quick picked up the win for Los Angeles with 22 saves.

Over is 3-0-1 in Sharks last 4 overall and over is 3-0-1 in Sharks last 4 vs. Western Conference and Sharks are 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Avalanche are 4-0 in their last 4 Wednesday games and Avalanche are 0-5 in their last 5 overall and under is 5-0 in Avalanche last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Over is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings and over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Colorado and Sharks are 3-7 in the last 10 meetings in Colorado.

I’d do something on the over if I were to bet this and hope the Avalanche help on the scoreboard…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
