The Line: Colorado Avalanche +113 / Winnipeg Jets -125 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Pepsi Center and the Colorado Avalanche welcome the Winnipeg Jets to town in an NHL Tuesday tilt.
The Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators are locked in a first place battle for the Central and their scoring and defense have to be at their best going forward. Winnipeg has won three in a row following a 5-0 victory versus the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday where both ends of the ice were dominant.
The balanced Jets attack received goals from Blake Wheeler, Mark Dano, Kyle Connor, Bryan Little and Mathieu Perrault. Connor Hellebuyck recorded 35 stops to up his record to 21-4-5 and lifted the Jets to first in the Central. Cam Talbot was charged with all five goals to fall to 14-12-2 for Edmonton.
The Colorado Avalanche have been playing far better then the team we saw a season ago but whether the improvement is enough to reach the playoffs is probably asking a lot. Colorado has won three of four following a 6-1 victory versus the visiting New York Islanders on Sunday night. Josh Bailey scored the only for New York in the third period.
The potent offense of the Avalanche received a pair of goals from Gabriel Landeskog with Matt Nieto, Erik Johnson, Carl Soderberg and Patrik Nemeth also lighting the lamp. Nathan MacKinnon added three helpers for the Avs and Jonathan Bernier logged 27 saves while Jaroslav Halak allowed five goals on 35 shots for New York
Jets are 1-7 in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Jets are 1-6 in their last 7 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Jets are 2-8 in their last 10 road games. Jets are 1-7 in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Jets are 1-6 in their last 7 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Jets are 2-8 in their last 10 road games. Home team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and Jets are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Colorado and under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
I’m waiting for Winnipeg to show some consistency and this would be the time to show it versus a tam they have struggled against…
