The Blue Jackets look for back to back victories after outlasting the Penguins last night as they welcome the Coyotes on Saturday.
The Arizona Coyotes look to continue their impressive start to the season as they head into Columbus to battle the underachieving Blue Jackets looking to regain their spot atop the Pacific division. The Coyotes were expected to land another top end draft selection in the upcoming off season but as it stands now they are thinking towards a playoff spot instead and with a 9-6-1 record so far they are looking more than capable of landing a top three spot in the Pacific. The Coyotes will send Mike Smith to the crease as he will face off against Sergei Bobrovsky in what should actually be one of the more enticing matchups of a bust Saturday night.
The Blue Jackets continue their recent success against the Pittsburgh Penguins with a 2-1 win last night in Pittsburgh in what is easily their biggest win of the year and now they can make it two in as many night against a Coyotes team playing with a ton of confidence. Columbus has to be one of the most disappointing teams in the league to start the season as they sit in the basement of the Eastern Conference with a paltry 5-12 record through their first 17 contests but perhaps last night's win was the catalyst necessary to turn things around and a home game tonight should have the fans fired up. Unfortunately, the Coyotes have been very strong on the road so far this season while the jackets have yet to find a win at home. I look for the trends to continue here.
