The Los Angeles Kings look to snap out of their road losing ways as they head into Columbus to battle the Blue Jackets on Thursday night.
The Kings have had a ton of success on the road in Columbus over the years but unfortunately for them they can’t play every single game away from home in Ohio as they have been dreadful everywhere else. The Kings are 1-4 in their last 5 games overall and with a rebuild imminent it has evoked a ton of trade rumors for centrepiece defender Drew Doughty who could very well be on the move if the Kings continue their descent down the Western Conference standings. The Kings are 8-3 in their last 11 trips to Columbus and are an impressive 19-7 in their last 26 meetings overall with the Jackets so there should be some confidence playing Los Angeles as a road dog here.
The Blue Jackets meanwhile have been inconsistent to start the season as they looked like a doormat out of the gate before going on a stretch of time as a contender and now are looking to even out again heading into Thursday’s action. Columbus will look for Sergei Bobrovsky to get back to his Vezina caliber play in the crease as his success will largely dictate the team’s success and with a cupcake matchup in this spot for he and the Blue Jackets this could be the start of an uptick in their schedule.
The Kings are winless in their last 6 Thursday games and 5-14 in their last 19 overall against a team with a winning record while the Jackets are 1-4 in their last 5 overall and winless in their last 4 against the Pacific. Both of these trams are struggling right now so the value is on the road team as the Kings have the talent to get a win here and at this price they are too good to pass on.
