Friday NHL action features the Montreal Canadiens visiting the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Montreal Canadiens have won three in a row after defeating visiting Florida 5-1 on Tuesday. Florida took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Mike Hoffman tally with James Reimer getting the loss with four goals allowed on 27 shots.

The balanced Montreal offense saw Shea Weber, Phillip Danault, Max Domi, Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Brenden Gallagher. Weber also had an assist and Antti Niemi picked up the win for the Canadiens with a monster 52 saves.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have surged to the top of the Metropolitan thanks to four straight wins capped off by a 4-1 win versus visiting New Jersey on Tuesday. Blake Coleman scored in the third period for the Devils with Keith Kinkaid giving up four goals on 34 shots. 

Columbus took a 3-0 lead in the first with Cam Atkinson, Boone Jenner and Artemi Panarin supplying markers while Pierre-Luc Dubois tallied in the second.

Atkinson, Dubois and Panarin also assisted for the Blue Jackets who received 29 saves from Joonas Korpisalo who upped his record to 9-2-2.
