The Blue Jackets look to win their home and season opener on Friday as they welcome the Rangers to Columbus.
The New York Rangers got off on the right foot to start their season as they went into the United Center and took down the Chicago Blackhawks on what was their banner raising night and will hope to do a little raising of their own at the end of this season. The Blue Shirts are as good as they come in the Eastern Conference and are a legitimate Cup contender again this season and as such they will be circled on every team's calendar as a game you want to play your best in and that includes tonight's match up with the Blue Jackets.
Columbus came on at the end of last season but couldn't do enough to get into the playoffs but with expectations high again this season and some key off season acquisitions including landing Brandon Saad from the Blackhawks the Jackets are in a good spot to make some noise. The Jackets have some holes on the blue line but have a nice top six and with Brandon Dubinsky in full health and getting a crack at his old team here I think the Jackets will show up for their home opener and give the Rangers a nice game. The line on this one remains to be seen as it will likely depend on goaltending confirmations but nonetheless I think this is New York's game to lose and with all said and done I see them staying unbeaten in this one.
