The Senators look for their third victory of the season when they take to the road to face off against the winless Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Ottawa Senators head into Columbus on Wednesday looking to shake off their first loss of the season against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday but with a win they earn their third road win in as many tries. The Sens are coming off a successful season that took some people by surprise but now with the shock factor in the rear view they can focus on becoming a more complete team and with the pieces they have in place they should make a push towards a berth in the Atlantic division playoffs. Craig Anderson remains the starting goalie while last season's savior Andrew Hammond recovers from an injury but if Anderson can continue to play well he could very well cement his spot as the team's go to even when Hammond returns.
The Blue Jackets are off to a tough start and need to stop the bleeding in a hurry or they run the risk of getting into the same funk they fell victim to last year where they started off incredibly slow and couldn't recover down the stretch. The Jackets do have a nice team but to me they are still a tad overrated and in a division that includes the likes of the Rangers, Islanders, Penguins, and Capitals Columbus knows they need to start stringing together victories. Unfortunately, the Sens are a good hockey team and play well on the road and coming off a loss to the Habs I think Ottawa will be re-energized in this one and get the victory.
