The Blue Jackets look to shake off a mini two game losing skid on Tuesday night when they host the Ottawa Senators in Columbus.
The Senators continue their road trip in Columbus on Tuesday after a tough 2-1 loss in Chicago in which they had ample opportunity to get two points and now they face a Jackets team looking to get back in the win column after back to back losses. Ottawa is a pretty solid team that should compete for a playoff spot at the end of the season but if they're going to be a team to beat they'll need to step up their game in terms of secondary scoring and find ways to beat the other teams they will be competing with including these Columbus Blue Jackets. Robin Lehner will get the start for Ottawa as he will likely go up against Sergei Borbrovsky.
The Blue Jackets were picked by many to be a dark horse team in the Eastern Conference this season after sneaking into the playoffs a season ago and while they have the roster to be competitive I don't see them making a deep push by any means. The Jackets have some nice pieces including Ryan Johansen who signed a long term contract with the team after a brief hold out but the loss of Nathan Horton and Brandon Dubinsky could have a bigger impact than people think and until they get someone to step up and fill the void it could be a disappointing end in Columbus. While Bobrovsky is a solid option in net I like the way Lehner has been playing for Ottawa this season and in this spot I can see the Sens stealing one as a road dog.
