The Philadelphia Flyers visit the Columbus Blue Jackets in a Thursday NHL tilt.

The Philadelphia Flyers have followed a two game skid with back to back wins after routing visiting Buffalo 5-2 on Tuesday. Jack Eichel and Casey Mittelstadt lit the lamp for the Sabres who trailed 3-2 heading to the third. Carter Hutton was charged with four goals on 44 shots to absorb the loss for Buffalo.

The balanced Flyers received scoring from Oskar Lindblom, Jacob Voracek, James van Riemsdyk, Travis Sanheim and Claude Giroux. Giroux also posted an assist and Brian Elliott stopped 34 shots to pick up the win.

The Columbus Blue Jackets were denied a third straight win in a 5-2 loss to visiting Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Oliver Bjorkstrand and Cam Atkinson scored second period goals for the Blue Jackets and Sergei Bobrovsky received the loss with four goals allowed on 26 shots.

Jared McCann topped the Pittsburgh offense with a pair of markers while Jake Guentzel, Evgeni Malkin and Sydney Crosby. Crosby also posted an assist and Matt Murray picked up the win with a 21 save performance.

Flyers are 5-1 in their last 6 road games and Flyers are 14-4 in their last 18 overall and
Flyers are 8-3 in their last 11 vs. Eastern Conference.

Blue Jackets are 8-3 in their last 11 vs. Metropolitan and Blue Jackets are 2-6 in their last 8 home games and Blue Jackets are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference.

Favorite is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings and under is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Columbus and over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

Win or lose the chalk is ridiculous so I’ll throw this out there and just watch…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
