The Columbus Blue Jackets battle the Pittsburgh Penguins in the back leg of a home-and-home series in a Saturday NHL tilt.

Columbus  Blue  Jackets have  dropped  three  of  four following  a  3-0  loss at  the  Penguins  on  Thursday  night. The  Blue  Jackets  struggled  offensively  with  only  25 shots and  Joonas  Korpisalo  stopped  28-30  shots  in  the  loss.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have enjoyed a small uptick in their performance after shutting down the Blue Jackets on Thursday to earn their 4thwin in five contests.

Phil Kessel, Nick Bjugstad and Sidney Crosby supplied the scoring for Pittsburgh. Eight different players recorded points for the Penguins and Matt Murray turned away 25 shots to earn his 10thcareer shutout.

Penguins are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Metropolitan and Penguins are 4-1 in their last 5 overall.

Penguins are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and Penguins are 13-5 in their last 18 games playing on 1 days rest.

Blue Jackets are 10-4 in their last 14 vs. Metropolitan and Blue Jackets are 3-8 in their last 11 home games.

Blue Jackets are 13-5 in their last 18 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blue Jackets are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.

Over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings and favorite is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings and Penguins are 26-10 in the last 36 meetings.

Home team is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings and over is 18-5 in the last 23 meetings in Columbus and Penguins are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Columbus.

I know the over fell well short in the first game of their home-and-home but that was an anomaly in this matchup…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
