The Toronto Maple Leafs pay a visit to Nationwide Arena to take the ice with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Toronto Maple Leafs shoot for back to back wins when they head to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets on Friday. The Maple Leafs have won two of three following a 4-0 whitewash of visiting Buffalo on Tuesday night. Toronto dominated the action at both ends of the ice but didn't take over the game until a three goal explosion in the final frame. The Maple Leafs received goals from James van Riemsdyk and Jake Gardiner while Phil Kessel and Tyler Bozak also lit the lamp and added assists. Morgan Rielly contributed a pair of helpers while Jonathan Bernier stopped ten shots for the win with Michael Neuvirth allowed three goals on 37 shots as the Sabres fell for the 8th time.
The injury riddled Columbus Blue Jackets welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to town in Friday night action. The Blue Jackets hung tough with the visiting Senators before Ottawa exploded for a three goal third period to snap a 2-2 tie for a 5-2 decision. Clarke MacArthur paced the Sens offense with a pair of goals with a helper while Zack Smith, Alex Chiasson and Erik Karlsson also found the back of the net. Robin Lehtner saw plenty of rubber but stood tall with a 36 save performance. The Blue Jackets received goals from Cam Atkinson and David Savard with Curtis McElhinney recording 29 saves with injured number one Sergei Bobrovsky unavailable. The sight of the Senators wasn't a pleasant sight for the shorthanded Blue Jackets who have dominated this series with wins in five of six.
