The Vancouver Canucks are eyeing a third consecutive win after a dominant 6-1 decision at St. Louis on Sunday. The inconsistent Blues trailed 5-0 in the third before Jordan Kyrou scored in the third off of assists from Robert Bortuzzo and Ryan O’Reilly. Jake Allen was tagged with the loss for St. Louis with three goals allowed on six shots before Chad Johnson gave up three goals on 15 shots in relief.
Brock Boeser paced the Vancouver offensive explosion with a hat trick with Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat and Nikolay Goldobin. Pettersson gave Vancouver four assists and Jacob Markstrom picked up the win with a 22 save performance.
The Columbus Blue Jacks have been in a bit of a funk with losses in three of four following a 4-0 defeat versus visiting Washington on Saturday. Columbus struggled in all phases with Sergei Bobrovsky allowing three goals on 13 shots to get the loss before Joonas Korpisalo came on to stop 14-15 shots.
The balanced Capitals received first period goals from Brett Connolly, Dmitrij Jackson and Alex Ovechkin. Travis Boyd scored in the third and Braden Holtby picked up the shutout for Washington with a 28 save performance.
