NHL playoff action resumes at Nationwide Arena where the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Washington Capitals in game four on Thursday.
The Columbus Blue Jackets were looking for their third straight win in the first round playoff matchup with Washington but fell 3-2 in two overtimes on Tuesday that sliced their series lead to 2-1.
The Blue Jackets received a second period tally from Pierre-Luc Dubois on assists from Artemi Panarin and Seth Jones while Panarin lit the lamp in the third with Cam Atkinson assisting. Columbus received 42 saves from Sergei Bobrovsky in a losing effort.
The Capitals took a 2-1 lead in to the third on goals off the sticks of Tom Wilson and John Carlson before Lars Eller won it with his tally at the 9:00 mark of the second overtime. Alex Ovechkin added a pair of helpers for Washington and Braden Holtby picked up the win with 33 stops.

Blue Jackets are 4-0 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and over is 5-0 in Blue Jackets last 5 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and Blue Jackets are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and over is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in Columbus and Capitals are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
Washington turned to their defense in game three in what was a must win scenario and game four looks like a must win game as well for the Capitals. I’ll take the Caps team total over 2.5 for now and dig in to this…
