Anaheim Ducks (8-2-0) at Dallas Stars (4-2-3)
|Date & Time||Friday October 31, 2014, 8:30 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Dallas Stars -130 / Anaheim Ducks +118 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Dallas Stars host the Anaheim Ducks at the American Airlines Center in Friday night action.
The Anaheim Ducks look to get back in the win column when they continue their road swing with a stop at Dallas. The Ducks are coming off a disappointing showing at the offensive side of the ice in a 2-0 defeat at St Louis. The respective defenses and goaltenders dominated the action but the Blues proved the age old theory that you still have to score to win. Alexander Steen scored 4 1/2 minutes in to the opening frame to give St Louis all the scoring they needed with Ryan Reeves wrist shot lighting the lamp at the 2:03 mark of the third to provide some insurance and Jake Allen made sure it stood up with 24 stops to earn the win and record his second shutout. John Gibson absorbed the loss despite a 27 save performance.
The Dallas Stars look to get a win for the American Airlines Center crowd when the Anaheim Ducks pay a visit Friday. The Stars have had a few days to get over a 4-3, overtime defeat to visiting St Louis on Tuesday night. The Stars couldn't control Vladimir Tarasenko who posted his only career hat trick with on the power play at 1:28 of the extra session. The Blues received a goal from Jori Lehtera and a pair of helpers in support of Brian Elliott who picked up the win with a 25 save effort. The Stars received tallies from Tyler Seguin, Jamie Oleksiak and Trevor Daley with Kari Lehtonen saddled with the defeat with a 23 stop effort. The Stars never trailed until overtime as they had 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 leads.
The under is 6-0 in Ducks last 6 overall and is 4-0 in Ducks last 4 vs. Western Conference while the Ducks are 4-1 in their last 4 road games. For Dallas the over is 4-0 in Stars last 4 vs. Pacific and 6-1 in Stars last 7 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 with the Stars going 1-5 in their last 6 vs. Western Conference. Head to head the home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings while the Ducks are 11-26-1 in the last 38 meetings in Dallas. The trends favor Dallas and I can see that with Anaheim being on the road for the past week but before I decide I need to confirm goalies so please check back Friday afternoon...
