The Line: Dallas Stars -155 / Arizona Coyotes +141 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Arizona Coyotes pay a visit to the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Starts Thursday.
The Arizona Coyotes begin a road swing with their first stop at the American Airlines Center Thursday at Dallas. The Coyotes are looking to rebound from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Washington in overtime on Tuesday that prevented a three game winning streak. Both defenses and goaltenders dominated the action with Eric Fehr recording the winning tally at 3:16 of the extra session to end the Capitals two game skid. Jay Beagle lit the lamp for the Caps in the first and the Coyotes received a second period goal from Oliver Ekman-Larsson in the second period. Braden Holby stopped 23 shots in the victory while the loss went to Mike Smith who recorded 22 saves.
The Dallas Stars continue their homestand continues when Arizona comes to town on Thursday night. The Stars are in need of a big bounce back from a 6-4 loss to visiting Carolina that extened the Stars losing streak to three games. The night started off well enough for Dallas who took a 2-0 first period lead before the Hurricanes exploded for four second period goals. Eric Staal paced the Canes attack with a pair of tallies with Patrick Dwyer, Jiri Tlusty, Jeff Skinner and Victor Rask also lit the lamp for Carolina to make a winner of Cam Ward and his 23 saves. Dallas received two goals from Tyler Sequin with Cody Eakin and Jamie Benn lighting the lamp. Kari Lehtonen gave up four goals before getting the hook with Anders Lindback giving up two more in relief.
The Coyotes are 0-5 in their last 5 Thursday games and are 1-5 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 while the under is 5-1 in Coyotes last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. For Dallas the over is 6-0 in Stars last 6 vs. a team with a losing record and the under going 5-0 in Stars last 5 Thursday games while the over is 4-0 in Stars last 4 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. Head to head the Coyotes are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Dallas while the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings with the home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. The trends favor Dallas and the under but the Stars aren't playing well so I'm waiting goalies...
