The Stars and Blackhawks meet up in Dallas on Friday night in a battle of two of the best teams in the NHL.
The Chicago Blackhawks head into Dallas looking to distance themselves from the Stars in the Central division as both teams currently sit with 88 points through 68 contests and are both just a single point up on the St. Louis Blues. The Hawks are coming off an overtime loss to St. Louis and are 5-3-2 in their last 10 overall but after another successful haul at the trade deadline the Hawks look like the team to beat in the Western Conference and should be treated as such by their opponents. Chicago is expected to send Corey Crawford to the crease in this very important contest as he is expected to square off against Kari Lehtonen as both teams look to gain the upper hand heading into the home stretch of the regular season.
The Stars have cooled off considerably since their red hot start but still are very much in contention to land the top seed in the Western Conference and a home ice win against the defending champs would be a huge confidence booster. The Stars are 21-10-1 at home this season and while Chicago is still a very respectable 17-13-4 on the road it is there one hole in an otherwise very impressive season and if there is a shot at the Stars getting the victory it will be in this spot at home with the Hawks coming off a 3-2 loss in St. Louis.
