It seems like the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks are playing each other every other night, but with the way these two teams have gone at it that's not such a bad thing. After the way things went down the other day in Chicago with the Stars taking a 4-3 win and Antoine Roussel irritating everyone he could in Chicago, you can bet the Blackhawks will be ready to go in this one. Dallas isn't sneaking up on the Blackhawks anymore who by this time have to know that the Stars are a very worthy opponent. Dallas was unable to follow up their win over Chicago when they headed to Toronto but it wasn't for lack of effort. The Stars fired 50 shots on goal but were outdone by Jonathan Berniner that night. On Saturday afternoon they continued their strong play with 34 more shots on goal, this time finding the back of the net five times. Tyler Seguin recorded the hat trick giving him 15 goals on the year for one of the most surprising clubs in the league. Valery Nichushkin and Cody Eakin also scored for the Stars who rolled past the Philadelphia Flyers by a score of 5-1.
Chicago follwed up their loss to the Stars with consecutive losses to the Minnesota Wild and Anaheim Ducks, but they bounced back in a big way on Sunday night. Hosting an overmatched Florida Panthers club the Blackhawks got first period goals fro Patrick Sharp and Brent Seabrook and never looked back. Marian Hossa and Michal Handzus scored second period goals, and Andrew Shaw and Brandon Saad added markers in the third as the Blackhawks cruised to a 6-2 victory over the Florida Panthers. The win moves the Blackhawks to 21-6-5 on the season but this is going to be another tough test for them on Tuesday night. These two teams are quickly growing some dislike for one another and the Stars are really impressing a lot of people with their play. Dallas seems to enjoy the challenge of taking on the Blackhawks and so far this year they've matched up well with them. The Stars aren't going to catch the Blackhawks by surprise anymore but the way they're playing of late they might not have to.
