The Edmonton Oilers look to extend their winning streak after a 2-1 victory against visiting Vegas on Saturday gave the team a third straight win. The surging Golden Knights received an unassisted tally in the second period from William Karlsson. Marc-Andre Fleury absorbed the loss for Vegas with both goals allowed on 34 shots.
Edmonton took a 1-0 lead at 6:11 of the first on a Connor McDavid tally with Ryan Spooner netting the winner at 5:11 of the third period on an assist from Jujhar Khaira. Mikko Koskinen recorded 31 saves for the Oilers to up his record to 8-2-1.
The Dallas Stars have followed a two game skid with back to back victories after downing Vancouver 2-1 on the road Saturday. The Canucks took the lead on a first period tally off the stick of Bo Horvat with Antoine Roussel and Tyler Motte assisting. Anders Nilsson was charged with the loss for Vancouver with both goals given up on 27 shots to fall to 3-5-0.
Jamie Benn scored in the third under four minutes into the third off of assists from Tyler Sequin and Miro Heiskanen before Alexander Radulov netted the winner at 16:37 of the third with Benn assisting. The Stars received 24 saves from Ben Bishop who improved to 9-5-1.
