The Dallas Stars look for another home ice victory as they welcome the Minnesota Wild to town on Friday night at the American Airlines Center.
The Minnesota Wild are playing some of their best hockey of the season and are looking for a massive win on the road to start the weekend as they face off against the Dallas Stars in Texas on Friday night. The Wild went into the all-star break with a 4-1 mark in their previous 5 games and they have been much better on the road over the last few weeks with a 6-2 mark in their previous 8 games away from home but they will be in tough against a Stars side that is 26-8 in the last 34 games in this series. Minnesota is an interesting team that has already made some waves in the trade market and they could very well be moving some more pieces around as they deadline fast approaches and their spot in the playoffs is very uncertain.
The Stars meanwhile have responded nicely since they were called out by management and are looking like a group finally capable of reaching their potential. The Stars are 4-0 in their last 4 Friday games and are an impressive 17-8 in their last 25 games at home against a team with a winning record on the road and that is exactly the situation they find themselves in on Friday. The Stars have the fire power to compete with any team in the NHL but surprisingly they have been an under machine this season as they have an 18-6-3 mark to the Under in heir last 27 games and have gone under in 5 of their last 6 at home.
The Wild are 8-3 in their last 11 against the Central and have hit the Over in 4 straight after a break of at least 3 days while the Stars are 26-8 in their last 34 meetings at home against Minnesota with the Under hitting in 8 of the last 11 in Dallas. The Stars are the better team and should have the edge at home in a line that is more than reasonable.
