The Nashville Predators visit American Airlines Arena to battle the Dallas Stars in Saturday NHL action.
The Nashville Predators have been red hot for a long time and their reward is first in the Central. However, Nashville might be on the verge of cooling off after suffering consecutive defeats after a 4-1 loss to the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night where neither end of the ice was able to come through. The Hurricanes put their stamp on this one with a 4-1 lead in the first with the respective defenses taking over the rest of the way.
Victor Rask scored the Predators only goal amidst the Hurricanes offensive explosion. Derek Ryan and Noah Hanflin score with the man advantage with Elias Lindholm and Victor Rask also lighting the lamp for the Canes. Noah Hanflin also gave Carolina a pair of assists to make Cam Ward and his 28 stops an easy winner. Pekka Rinne allowed four goals on six shots before Nashville replaced him with Juuse Saros who recorded 26 saves.
The Dallas Stars haven’t been playing all that well the past few weeks and need to up their game in an ultra competitive central. Dallas did up their game Thursday night with a 4-0 victory versus the suddenly surging Chicago Blackhawks who saw a season high five game winning streak end.
The Stars offense received a pair of goals from Tyler Seguin with Jamie Benn and Antoine Roussel also finding the back of the net. Dan Hamhuis posted two assists and Ben Bishop recorded 24 saves to earn his third shutout of the season and help end the Stars three game skid. Corey Crawford absorbed the loss with 18 stops.
