The Nashville Predators look to stay red hot as they take to the road to face off against the disappointing Dallas Stars on Thursday night.
The Predators got off to a very slow start this season but have since turned it up and are looking like the contender many people thought we would see from them this season and they will look to keep it going on Thursday in Dallas. Nashville is built on the strength of their defense and after making the move to get PK Subban in the offseason who brings a source of offensive flare from the blue line it was clear that they were looking to be more of a threat in the offensive zone. Nashville still needs to find a bona fide point producer up top as the method of having someone new step up every night can fade out quickly and as we have seen in recent years the superstar factor plays a big time role.
The Stars meanwhile have two big time superstars up top in Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn but the team as a whole has been disappointing to start the year as they are 10-11-6 so far and have fallen short of their expectation. The Stars have suffered some tough injuries but they have a lethal offense that includes Jason Spezza and Patrick Sharp alongside their top two options and those two need to pick it up if they’re going to jump back into the fold in the Western Conference. Antii Niemi is expected to get the nod here in the Dallas crease as he will face off with Pekka Rinne and with the two Finnish nationals going head to head and neither team wanting to blink I see this one being a tight finish that stays under the number.
