The Stars look to continue their winning ways on Tuesday as they do battle with the Ottawa Senators in Dallas.
The Senators haven't had the year many had anticipated in the preseason and it has already cost them their head coach and could be more as the season progresses but for what its worth they are still a very tough team to play against and should be treated as such each and every night. Ottawa has a pretty nice roster and while some pieces are aimed at building for the future and others may not be around to see the rebuild they are still a decent team that has a chance to play spoiler the rest of the year. As the mid way point has come and gone sit in second to last place in the Atlantic division but they are only eight points back of the Bruins for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference and if they can piece some wins together then they could very well end up in the playoffs after all. Robin Lehner is expected to get the start as he will go up against Kari Lehtonen.
The Stars were picked by many to be the dark horse in the Western Conference this season but a slow start and a very competitive division could have Dallas on the outside looking in if they can't their act together soon. Dallas currently sits five points back of the Kings for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference and they are giving themselves a chance right now as Lehtonen has been great between the pipes and the team has points in seven of 10 games so it isn't out of the question for Dallas as they are right in the mix. The Stars know though they need to come away victorious in games like this against teams behind them in the league standings and their play at home has the oddsmakers leaning hard in favour of Dallas here and while I am a little skeptical on the line here I think Dallas is the play and they should get the win especially with Lehner in net.
