The Line: Dallas Stars -113 / San Jose Sharks +102 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The American Airlines Center and the Dallas Stars play host to to the dangerous San Jose Sharks.
The San Jose Sharks hope to continue their winning ways when they visit the Dallas Stars in Saturday night. The Canucks have now won three in a row and seven of eight after dealing the Sharks a 3-2 defeat on Thursday night. This appeared to be a scorefest with both teams scoring five times in the first two periods before the respective defenses and goaltenders pitched shutouts over the final 20 minutes. Nick Bonino scored what was the winning goal with Alexander Edler and Radim Vrbata joining him in the scoring column to make Ryan Miller's 34 saves hold up. The Sharks received goals from Logan Couture and James Sheppard with Antti Niemi absorbing the loss with three goals scored on 19 shots.
The Dallas Stars hope to right the ship when the San Jose Sharks take the ice on Saturday. Things have not been going favorably for the Stars who have droped six consecutive contests following a 3-2 loss to visiting Nashville on Thursday night. Matt Cullen snapped a 2-2 tie with 6:13 remaining in the game to give the Predators their second win in three contests. The power play played a huge role for the visitors with Filip Forsberg and Craig Smith scoring with the man advantage in the second period while Pekka Rinne blocked 33 shots for the win. Dallas received tallies from Patrick Eaves and Trevor Daley with Kari Lehtonen recording 30 saves to take the defeat. Jamie Benn missed an op net with Lehtonen pulled late but he missed the net.
The under is 5-1 in Sharks last 6 vs. a team with a losing record and is 5-1 in Sharks last 6 overall while going 5-1 in Sharks last 6 vs. Western Conference. For Dallas the Stars are 0-4 in their last 4 home games and are 0-4 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game with the under is 4-0 in Stars last 4 vs. Western Conference. Head to head the home team is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings while the Sharks are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Dallas and the under is 3-1-1 in the last 5 meetings. The trends lean strongly to the under and Dallas but the Stars are struggling so I need to see who is in nets and will come up with someting Saturday afternoon or sooner...
