The Line: Dallas Stars -140 / St. Louis Blues +127 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The St. Louis Blues visit the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Stars in a Friday NHL tilt.
The St. Louis Blues are going to the postseason but the team will be trying to improve their position going forward. St. Louis has lost consecutive games after a 4-3, OT defeat at Nashville. The Blues took a 3-0 lead on goals from Jay Bouwmeester, Alexander Steen and Jaden Schwartz with Carter Hutton getting the loss with 29 saves.
The Predators received two third period goals from Austin Watson with Calle Jarnkrok also scoring as the team rallied from a 3-0 deficit. Filip Forsberg scored 1:19 in to the extra session and Pekka Rinne got the win for Nashville with 28 stops.
The Dallas Stars had been red hot with five consecutive victories where both ends of the ice had been contributing to their success. Dallas cooled down for a day in a 6-0 defeat at the hands of the visiting Vancouver Canucks where nothing went favorably. Ben Bishop absorbed the loss for Dallas with four goals allowed on 20 shots with Kari Lehtonen stopping 19-21 in relief.
The Canucks were balanced offensively with five different players scoring. Reid Boucher led the way with two goals with Jake Virtanen, Thomas Vanek, Bo Horvat and Erik Gudbranson joining the scoring column to make a winner of Jacob Markstrom and his 30 saves.
Over is 4-0 in Blues last 4 vs. Central and over is 4-0 in Blues last 4 vs. Western Conference and under is 6-1 in Blues last 7 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game. Under is 5-0 in Stars last 5 following a home loss of 3 or more goals and under is 4-0 in Stars last 4 following a loss of 3 or more goals and over is 4-0 in Stars last 4 Friday games. Home team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Blues are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Dallas.
This looks like a better game to watch then bet but for now I’ll take a small stab at the over…
