St. Louis Blues (53-27-10) at Dallas Stars (55-24-10)
|Date & Time||Sunday May 1, 2016, 4:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Dallas Stars -115 / St. Louis Blues -105 --- Over/Under: 5
The Blues and Stars continue their Western Conference second round series in Dallas on Sunday as the home team looks to go up 2-0.
The Blues couldn’t harness any of their game seven momentum into the series opener with the Stars on Friday night as they fell by a final of 2-1 and now face a 1-0 series hole heading into Sunday’s encounter that could force them into an uphill battle heading home. St. Louis has a very solid team and were one of the league’s best teams during the regular season as they almost closed the gap on Dallas for the Central division crown so it comes as no surprise that this game is basically a pick em. St. Louis has the better blue line and goaltending but their offense is so strong and while they didn’t need a ton of goals in game one’s win they certainly pose a threat to score with every shot on goal.
The Stars made quick work of the Wild in the opening round and carried that energy into their first show down with the Blues but they know they aren’t in the clear by any means as St. Louis is a much different monster than Minnesota. Dallas is still to get Tyler Seguin back in this series which is scary for St. Louis as it adds another top end scoring option who is among the league’s best when healthy and with Jamie Benn playing so well at the moment it would make them the favourite not only in this series but to win the Stanley Cup. However, this series is going to be a bloodbath and I think the Blues grab game two and head back home on even terms in another tightly contested show down on Sunday.
