The Line: Dallas Stars -120 / Tampa Bay Lightning +100 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Tampa Bay Lightning head to the American Airlines Center for an NHL hockey bout with the Dallas Stars.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are a team that’s generally been quiet for the majority of the year but if they are going to reach the postseason then they need to make a lot of noise going forward. The Lightning headed in to their week off with a 4-1 win at Winnipeg to improve to 3-0-1 in their last four outings. The balanced Tampa Bay offense received goals from Brayden Point, Victor Hedman, Brian Boyle and Ondrej Palat with Ben Bishop logging 32 stops in the win that lifted TB to 25-24-7. Jacob Trouba lit the lamp for Winnipeg in the third with Connor Hellebucyk allowing three goals on 29 shots to absorb the loss.
The Minnesota Wild haven’t lost very often this season but when they have, they have come back strong to avoid any type of significant losing streaks. The Wild lost to Anaheim Tuesday and quickly got back in the win column with a 3-1 victory against visiting Dallas on Thursday to maintain their lead in the Western Conference. Ryan Sutter, Erik Haula and Jared Spurgeon each scored for the game’s number four offense and goalie Darcy Kuemper had no problem making the support stand up with a 34 save performance. Cody Eakin tallied for the struggling Stars who received 23 stops from Kari Lehtonen.
The under is 3-0-1 in Lightning last 4 vs. Western Conference and the over is 6-0 in Lightning last 6 games playing on 3 or more days rest while the under is 3-0-1 in Lightning last 4 overall. The over is 5-0 in Stars last 5 home games and the over is 5-0 in Stars last 5 Saturday games while the Stars are 1-7 in their last 8 overall. The over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings and the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Dallas while the road team is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
Tampa Bay has shined in this match up and goals have been scored so I lean over for now pending goalies…
