The NHL comes to the American Airlines Center when the Winnipeg Jets visit the Dallas Stars.
The Winnipeg Jets look for two points when the team goes on the road to face the Dallas Stars. Winnipeg had won three in a row before suffering a 5-4, overtime loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
The Jets couldn’t maintain a two goal lead in the third and fell in overtime when Max Pacioretty tallied the winner with 1:53 remaining in the extra session. The Canadiens power play was clicking with Andrew Shaw scoring twice with the man advantage with Tomas Plekanec and Jeff Petry scored in the third. Max Pacioretty logged a pair of helpers and Al Montoya made 23 stops for the Habs.
All four Winnipeg goals came on the power play with Blake Wheeler leading the way with a pair of goals with Andrew Copp and Nicolaj Ehlers also scoring. Dustin Byfuglien posted two assists with Connor Hellebuyck allowing five goals on 50 shots for the Jets.
The Dallas Stars play consecutive home games on Monday when the Winnipeg Jets take the ice. Dallas has been surging a bit with wins in three of four after dominating the Buffalo Sabres 5-1 on Saturday night.
The balanced Stars attack featured scoring from Radek Faksa, Remi Elie, Stephen Johns, Tyler Seguin and Antoine Roussel. John Klingberg added three assists and Gemel Smith had two more to make Kari Lehtonen’s 27 saves an easy winner.
Ryan O’Reilly sored the lone goal for the Sabres on an unassisted tally at 11:51 of the third but it was immaterial with the struggles in the nets. Robin Lehner gave up three goals on seven shots before Buffalo replaced him with Chad Johnson who allowed two goals on 15 shots.
Jets are 5-0 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference and Jets are 11-1 in their last 12 games playing on 1 days rest and over is 15-3 in Jets last 18 vs. Central. Over is 3-0-1 in Stars last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and Stars are 5-0 in their last 5 home games and under is 6-0 in Stars last 6 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game. Jets are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings and over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
