The Anaheim Ducks visit the Detroit Red Wings in a Tuesday NHL tilt.

The Anaheim Ducks need a spark and didn’t find one Sunday in a 4-3 OT defeat at Winnipeg for their 10thstraight loss. The Ducks received scoring from Brian Gibbons, Rickard Rakell and Andrew Cogliano. Carter Rowney recorded three helpers and Daniel Sprong assisted twice while John Gibson gave up four goals on 34 shots to get the loss Anaheim.

Blake Wheeler, Patrik Laine and Ben Chairot scored in regulation for Winnipeg with Bryan Little netting the OT winner. Little also posted an assist and Connor Hellebuyck made 28 stops to get the win for the Jets.

The Detroit Red Wings downed the Minnesota Wild 5-2 on the road Friday to end a three game skid. Luke Kunin and Nino Niederreiter lit the lamp for Minnesota but Devan Dubnyk struggled in the net with five goals allowed on 37 shots to get the loss.

The Red Wings explosive offense saw Tyler Bertuzzi record a hat trick with Thomas Vanek reaching the scoring column twice. Dylan Larkin posted three helpers with Gustav Nyquist and Jonathan Ericsson assisting twice and Jimmy Howard stopped 16 shots to get the win.

Ducks are 0-5 in their last 5 road games and under is 5-0 in Ducks last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and under is 7-0 in Ducks last 7 vs. Atlantic. Red Wings are 0-4 in their last 4 Tuesday games and Red Wings are 0-5 in their last 5 games following a win and Red Wings are 0-7 in their last 7 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Ducks are 8-3 in the last 11 meetings and Ducks are 9-23 in the last 32 meetings in Detroit and home team is 46-21-1 in the last 68 meetings.

Our choices are Anaheim who have lost ten in a row and Detroit who has won twice in ten games. I guess that makes the Red Wings ‘hot’ in this matchup…

Pick:
Detroit -120

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
