The Bruins look to create separation in the Atlantic division race and chase down the Panthers for top spot as they battle the Wings at the Joe on Sunday.
The Boston Bruins have been spectacular to watch on the road this season and continue to prove they are among the best in the Eastern Conference as they are 30-19-6 this season and more impressively are 18-5-3 on the road. The B’s are coming off a big win against the Minnesota Wild yesterday and now they have a chance at pulling within two points of the Panthers for top spot in the division. The B’s are in a good spot at the moment when it comes to the NHL playoff picture but will need to stay the course for the rest of the season as there is only six points separating first from fourth and a losing skid could very well cost them a shot at the postseason.
The Red Wings meanwhile are coming off an overtime loss against the streaky Colorado Avalanche and have slipped into third place in the Atlantic with the Lightning sitting a single point back of them. The Wings are in a good position to get into the postseason once again but the journey won’t be easy and with the trade deadline fast approaching it’ll be interesting to see whether they stand pat or move some pieces around in hopes of making a run this year. This should be a great game and even though the B’s are in a back to back I really like them to extend their road success and grab a statement win against the Wings.
