The Dallas Stars are gunning for a third consecutive victory following a 5-2 win versus the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. The Ducks received a pair of goals from Ryan Getzlaf with John Gibson absorbing the loss with five goals allowed on 41 shots.
Jason Dickinson topped the Dallas offense with a pair of tallies with Roman Polak, Miro Heskanen and Mattias Janmark all reaching the scoring column. Ben Bishop earned the win for Dallas with a 23 save performance.
The Detroit Red Wings gave the visiting Winnipeg Jets all they could handle before falling 2-1 on Friday leaving the team with one win on the season. Detroit led 1-0 on a first period tally from Andreas Athanasiou while Jimmy Howard took the loss despite a 38 save effort.
Kyle Connor scored on the power play for the Jets with Dustin Byfuglien scoring the winner in the third. Laurent Brossoit improved to 3-0-0 for Winnipeg with a goal given up on 28 shots.
