The Stars head into the Motor City looking to pull off the upset while the Red Wings look to keep pace atop the Atlantic division standings.
The Stars head into Detroit looking for their third straight victory after upending the Bruins in Boston on Tuesday night but they’ll have to contend with a tough Red Wings team to do it. Dallas has moved past the .500 mark and are climbing up the standings but they have been a far better team at home than on the road and Tuesday’s victory over the Bruins was more a case of context as both Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley were playing their former team for the first time. Kari Lehtonen has been brilliant in the Dallas crease and he gives the Stars a chance to win every night but he will have to be sharp against Detroit here as they have a potent offense and a fine goaltender of their own.
The Red Wings are coming off a loss but are still 9-5-2 on the year and are tied atop the Atlantic division standings with the Lightning and Maple Leafs heading into tonight’s contest. Detroit is a very tough team to beat as they have a ton of talent and at home are one of the best teams in the league and have been for the better part of a decade. The Wings will need to refocus after their loss but if there is any team that can respond after a loss it is the Red Wings hence why they are such a big favourite in this contest. Whether it is worth taking the Wings to win at such a juicy line I think it is worth investing in the total as both goalies are talented and will be the ex-factor on both sides that will determine the outcome. I am taking the under here.
