The Stars head into the Joe on Sunday looking to extend their lead atop the Western Conference standings as they take on the Red Wings.
The Dallas Stars have had a red hot start to the 2015-16 NHL season as they are 11-3 through their first 14 games and have the look of a Western Conference playoff contender at the very least and if they bring in another piece or two they could very well be Cup favourites. The Stars are 6-2 away from home so far this season and are coming off back to back victories leading into Sunday's encounter with Detroit. The Stars will likely go with Kari Lehtonen between the pipes as he matches up with Jimmy Howard who continues to log minutes ahead of Petr Mrzek.
The Red Wings are coming off three straight wins and will look to make it four with a pivotal show down against one of their old Western Conference foes from the 90's. The Wings are a solid team that should have no trouble qualifying for the playoff out of the Atlantic division and while it already seems like the division title is in the hands of the Canadiens the Wings can land home ice if they play their cards right. But for now, the Wings face off against a really good Stars team that has two of the game's bets players firing on all cylinders and betting against Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn is a very bad idea right now.
