The Oilers head into the Joe looking to snap out of their losing ways while the Wings look to recover after dropping their last game in overtime.
The Edmonton Oilers continue to add to the walking wounded as former first overall pick Nail Yakupov will be out for a month after a freak accident involving a linesman resulted in a severely sprained ankle. The latest sums up the Oilers over the last few seasons as they have a ton of talent but haven’t been able to catch any breaks and this year is no different as they sit in last place in the Pacific and have the worst record in the NHL. Cam Talbot will likely get back to the crease as he will go up against Jimmy Howard
The Wings are once again in the mix in the Atlantic division and will look to continue their impressive playoff streak as they sit in fourth in the division but are just four points back of the Sens for second. Detroit does have a nice roster with plenty of potential moving forward but seem to have something off about them this year and while it may go unnoticed if they make the playoffs but they just don’t seem to have as much fire power this season. However, a cure for that is a match up with Edmonton who hasn’t been able to get anything going this season and I don’t see them ridding of that tonight.
