he Red Wings look to climb the Atlantic division standings with a home ice victory over the Panthers on Sunday in the lone match up on the ice.
The Florida Panthers head into the Joe on Sunday looking to win back to back games and trim their deficit in the Atlantic division as they sit five points back of the Wings and Bruins for the third automatic playoff spot. The Cats have slowed down substantially over the last couple of weeks as they stormed out of the gates but a tough 4-5-1 stretch has them sitting at .500 on the season and while that is where many had them pegged to finish this season they do have a better roster than where they sit. Roberto Luongo will get the call as he will go up against Petr Mrazek.
The Red Wings head into action coming off an overtime victory against the Edmonton Oilers and if they can grab two points here they can pull even with the idle Senators for second spot in the Atlantic. Detroit is in a good position to continue their playoff streak but they will have their work cut out for them as the middle of the division is very competitive and will likely come down to the wire. This should be an exciting contest and while both teams have great options in the offensive zone I think defense and goaltending will be the story here and as such I like this one to stay under the number.
