The Red Wings look to shake off an overtime loss at the Joe in their last outing as they stay put and welcome the Kings to town on Friday night.
The LA Kings head into the Motor City on Friday looking to stay on top of the Pacific division and as winners of three in a row and seven of their last 10 games overall they are in a nice position to do so here against an average Wings group. The Kings look like a team ready to get back to the playoffs and make a statement once they get there and while they have lost some pieces from their last Cup roster they still have a large portion of that group intact and will be looking for a deep run in the Western Conference playoffs this season. Jonathan Quick gets the call between the pipes here as he will go up against Petr Mrazek who earned a shut out his last time between the pipes.
The Red Wings are in the mix in the Atlantic division but overall they sit with a very average 9-8-2 record and sit 10 points back of the Canadiens for top spot. Detroit is looking for Pavel Dastyuk to get going as he is the team's offensive catalyst and if they can get some secondary support they could very well extend their ridiculous playoff streak and pull off a few upsets along the way. With Mrzaek in goal I like the Wings a bit better than I would with Howard but I really like the total as both goalies should be on their game and this one will come down to the wire.
