The Wild look to get back on track with a road win in Detroit on Tuesday after dropping a 3-1 decision on home ice to the Blue Jackets yesterday.
The Wild suffered a set back in their attempt to claw back into the playoff picture in the Western Conference as they dropped a 3-1 decision on home ice to the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets and now take to the road to face one of the league's hottest teams in Detroit. Minnesota will likely get Darcy Kuemper back between the pipes for this one and give Devan Dubnyk a rest as he has started the last three games for the Wild since coming over from Arizona and the rest of the season will be an interesting dynamic on the Wild goaltending front as they traded for Dubnyk but have more experience with Kuemper and that could develop into a time share situation or riding the hot hand. Either way the Wild are in for a tough outing as they travel to the Joe to face the Red Wings who have been on fire of late and took down the Predators in their last outing.
The Red Wings can take over top spot in the Atlantic division with a victory on Tuesday and they catch the Wild at the perfect time as they're coming off a loss to Columbus on Monday night and have to travel to Detroit for tonight's game. The Wings have won four in a row and seven of their last 10 overall and despite being without Jimmy Howard they have continued to find ways to win with Petr Mrazek between the pipes and they'll look to extend that streak at the hands of the Wild who remain in the Central division basement. This is a tough one as the Wild are not a bad team and are getting some crazy value here but the Wings have been very tough to beat especially at home and until they give us a reason not to back them I say we keep riding them and that's where we go in this one.
