Friday NHL action pits the Nashville Predators at the Detroit Red Wings.
The Nashville Predators have followed a long six game slide with back to back wins after downing Philadelphia 4-0 on Tuesday. The Flyers never got their offense untracked and Michal Neuvirth was charged with four goals on 30 shots to get the loss.
Nashville received two goals from Viktor Arvidsson with Craig Smith and Rocco Grimaldi also reaching the scoring column. Juuse Soros was rock solid between the pipes for the Predators with 32 stops to earn his 6thcareer shutout.
The struggles of the Detroit Red Wings continued with a 5-3 loss to visiting Calgary on Wednesday saddling the team with six straight defeats. Darren Helm and Jacob De La Rose gave Detroit a 2-0 edge in the first with Andreas Athanasiou scoring in the second. Jimmy Howard absorbed the loss for the Red Wings with four goals allowed on 34 shots.
The Flames offense came off the sticks of Sean Monahan, TJ Brodie, Elias Lindholm and Johnny Gaudreau. Lindholm assisted twice and Gaudreau added three helpers with Mike Smith picking up the win with 29 stops for Calgary.
