Boston received second period goals from Jake DeBrusk, Brad Marchand and David Backes. David Krejci assisted twice for the Bruins and Jaroslav Halak was charged with five goals on 27 shots.
Anthony Mantha scored twice in the first and again in the third for a hat trick while Taro Hirose, Filip Hronek and Dylan Larkin reached the scoring column for Detroit. Mantha and Tyler Bertuzzi each added three helpers and Jimmy Howard stopped 31 shots to get the win for the Red Wings.
