The Blues look to push their winning streak to three games as they head into the Joe on Wednesday night to battle the Red Wings.
The shorthanded Blues look to grab another victory on the road they head into Detroit to battle the Red Wings in a game that can put them in second place in the Central division with a victory but against a tough Wings side looking to shake off an overtime loss they know it’ll be a tough out. The Blues have been able to generate victories despite losing some of their top end offensive weapons and if they can sustain a moderate degree of success moving forward and add a piece at the deadline they will be in great shape come playoff time. St. Louis is 11-7-4 on the road this season and will start Brian Elliott while the Wings are 11-8-5 at home and will likely counter with Petr Mrazek.
The Red Wings sit in second place in the Atlantic and while are only three points back of the division lead they are only four points up on being in sixth place so there is still plenty left to be decided. Detroit has been pretty consistent across the board this season but have been a little uncharacteristic at home this season as they are usually a sure bet when playing at the Joe but this season they have whimpered at times and that could cost them in playoff seeding. The Wings need a win here and while the Blues are a solid team I think they are still a little banged up and I like the home side at a nice price.
