The St. Louis Blues visit the Motor City to face the Detroit Red Wings in NHL hockey on Wednesday.

The St. Louis Blues looked like a team with no direction until Ken Hitchcock was replaced by Mike Yeo and the team has responded with wins in five of six after knocking off the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 on Saturday. Patrik Bergjund was the Blues offensive star with his first career hat trick with David Perron also finding the back of the net to give Jake Allen the victory that lifted the team to their 4th consecutive win on the road. The Canadiens controlled play in this one but managed just a pair of goals off the sticks of Max Pacioretty and Shea Weber but Al Montoya gave up three goals to absorb the loss as the Habs fell to 1-4-1 the last six times out.

The Detroit Red Wings need a strong finish to keep their playoff hopes alive but they will need to quickly forget about their 6-3 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. The Wild seemed to pounce on every Red Wings mistakes with a trio of power play tallies. Zach Parise pace the Wild offense with a pair of goals with Nino Niederreiter, Charlie Coyle and Mikael Granlund also scoring to make a winner of Devan Dubnyk and his 30 stops. Minnesota is atop the Western Conference and lead the Blackhawks with a few games in hand. The Detroit offense came from Henrik Zetterberg, Andreas Athanasiou and Anthony Mantha with Jared Coreau absorbing the loss with 23 saves.

The Blues are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and the Blues are 4-0 in their last 4 road games while the Blues are 4-0 in their last 4 overall. The Red Wings are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and the over is 5-1-1 in Red Wings last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the Red Wings are 2-8 in their last 10 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Detroit and the road team is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings while the under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings.

The under has been very strong in this match up and the road team has been outstanding but while waiting for goalies I lean St. Louis…

Pick:
St. Louis -125 // will update...huge line drop w/ $$ going on Detroit

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
