The Red Wings look for a follow up effort after a big win in game three as they host the Lightning at the Joe on Tuesday night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning look to find a way to solve goaltender Petr Mrazek as he stole the show in a game three victory by positing a shutout and looking like a Vezina winner in the process. However, the Bolts still hold a one game lead and can put the Wings on their heels with a victory in this one as they could very well make the return trip to Tampa with a 3-1 series lead and a chance to eliminate the Wings on home ice. The Bolts couldn’t muster much in the way of offensive pressure and need their balanced attack to wake up and silence the Red Wings faithful as the Joe was electric in game three and certainly gave them an added boost in a virtual must win game. Ben Bishop will get the start for Tampa as he will likely face off against Mrazek as it would be foolish to move away from him at this point if you’re the Wings.
The Red Wings kept their season and Cup aspirations afloat with a massive win at home in game three and while they still have a mountain to climb to get back in this series they can pull even with a win here in front of their home fans. Detroit will have to find a way to win a game in Tampa Bay if they’re going to win this series but they are certainly capable of doing so as they have a ton of playoff experience and a winning pedigree in their organization but things haven’t been too great for them this year and I think they lack a bit of offensive depth to compete with the best in the league. With this being a huge swing in momentum for whoever wins the series I expect another very tight game that should come under the number without trouble.
