Tampa Bay Lightning (52-27-8) at Detroit Red Wings (46-26-15)
|Date & Time||Monday April 27, 2015, 7:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Detroit Red Wings -110 / Tampa Bay Lightning -110 --- Over/Under: 5
The Tampa Bay Lightning travel to Joe Louis Arena for game six with the Detroit Red Wings.
After a dramatic comeback to steal game four at Joe Louis Arena the Tampa Bay Lightning were flat at both ends of the ice as the Red Wings dominated game five 4-0 to take a 3-2 series lead. The Lightning scored two goals in the last six minutes of regulation to send game four to overtime where they eventually won but there were no such heroics this time around and apparently no momentum. In game number five the Lightning couldn’t solve Detroit netminder Petr Mrazek and didn’t stop the power play with the Wings going 2-4 with the man advantage. Ben Bishop was charged with the loss with three goals given up on 29 shots as the series shifts back to Joe Louis Arena where TB faces elimination on Monday`.
This has been a very strange series with the Red Wings winning the opener despite recording only 14 shots while Tampa Bay got some payback with their dramatic rally from two goals down to win game four in overtime. In Detroit’s game number five victory there were no last minute heroics or fluke stats that say one team dominated and lost. Instead we saw the Red Wings put together 60 minutes of hockey and walk away with a workmanlike 4-0 win. Riley Sheahan, Pavel Datsyuk, Drew Miller and Danny DeKeyser did the damage for the Red Wings offense with a pair of power play tallies coming from the special teams. Petr Mrazek stood tall between the pipes with 28 stops to earn his second shutout of Tamp Bay.
The under is 4-0-1 in Lightning last 5 road games and the over is 4-0-1 in Lightning last 5 following a loss of 3 or more goals while the under is 11-1-1 in Lightning last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The under is 3-0-3 in Red Wings last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and is 4-0-3 in Red Wings last 7 home games while the Red Wings are 1-9 in their last 10 games following a win. The under is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings and is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings in Detroit while the Lightning are 4-9-1 in the last 14 meetings in Detroit. I’m waiting for goalies right now but lean Detroit right now…
